CLASS STYLES

All classes include a combination of poses, breathwork, meditation, and mudras.

  • Alignment classes utilize props such as blocks, blankets, yoga belt and a chair.

    Level 1 (Beginner)

Level 1 is for people new to yoga or looking to re-establish the foundations of practice. Class is a slower pace so you have time to understand the concepts and actions of each pose and technique.

    Level 2 (Intermediate)

Level 2 assumes that the practitioner has some yoga experience and is looking to expand on that knowledge. The pace is still relatively slow and methodical but may be a bit faster at times than Level 1.

    Level 3 (Advanced)

L evel 3 continues to expand upon the principles developed in Level 1 & 2 classes. Even though this class looks at more physically challenging practices, please remember that advanced practice is not how bendy or strong you are. Understanding how to take care of yourself in more challenging poses and adapting when necessary is key to practicing with wisdom.

  • Vinyasa classes link breath and movement. These classes are still steeped in alignment & energetic cuing but connect sequences of poses together at a slightly quicker pace. Some yoga experience is useful.

  • Yoga for Back Care classes are for those struggling with general back pain or back injuries such as herniation. Other conditions may include stenosis, spondylolisthesis, spondylosis and scoliosis. This class moves slowly and safely so that one can begin to utilize the power of the yoga practice in their healing journey.

  • The yoga rope wall is a wonderful tool for all students. It helps stretch and release tension from the musculo-skeletal body, takes pressure off the joints, and provides support as well as many ways to strengthen the body in all relationships to gravity. It is often used as a way to decompress the spine, our central energy column, which feels great for the body but also brings a sense of ease and invigoration to the mind. When working with the yoga rope wall, students will experience classic yoga poses in a whole new light. Many find that they can access poses otherwise deemed impossible. It opens up endless possibilities for all practitioners.

  • A calming practice to balance out the energies of the nervous system. Poses are supported and held for longer periods of time so the body has a chance to deeply relax. Breathwork (pranayama) is also included.

  • These shorter classes are for those that need a quick yoga fix
